File Specification

As part of the installation and testing process for Direct-IP we need a sample data file produced by your system. The purpose of this is:

  • to ensure that when an engineer attends your site, he will be able to complete the installation on that day
  • so that the sample data can be templated to ensure it is 100% compatible with Direct-IP. In our experience, with the advanced templating that exists, 99.9% are found to be compatible at the first sample
  • to ensure the system supplying the data is configured and working.

If you have a problem outputting such a file from your system, please refer in the first instance to your software supplier, or if applicable, software dealer.

Each individual credit or debit from your account is known as a record. Each record consists of fields of data that relate to the different elements of the Bacs payment. There are 12 fields that make up each record of a Bacs payment. The Software is able, through its application set-up, to automatically fill most of these fields. There are, however, certain key fields that must be present in your supplied data file before it is presented.
